REPORTMILL BRINGS PDF AND FLASH GENERATION TO JAVAONE
San Francisco, CA- March 25, 2002 - ReportMill Software,
Inc. today announced the official release of ReportMill 5
at Sun's JavaOne conference. ReportMill is the only developer
tool in the world providing dynamic PDF and Flash documents
and reports for Java applications. The new version is written
entirely in Java and runs on all major platforms, generating
content directly from objects inside Java applications through
a process known as "Object Reporting".
"Object Reporting lets developers present their valuable
business logic as professionally crafted documents with no
wiring and just a few lines of code. Application development
just got a whole lot easier.", said Jeff Martin, ReportMill
CEO.
ReportMill has a powerful page layout application for template
design. Data binding is achieved using the familiar mail-merge
paradigm. At runtime, developers tell the template object
to generate a report with a given set of objects, then tell
the report object to write as either PDF or Flash.
Rich content, such as PDF and Flash, is an essential part
of Java desktop and Java web applications, particularly in
the enterprise. ReportMill fills a void in the developer tools
space by automating this task, resulting in applications that
provide more functionality, are more attractive and are quicker
